“A Poem for Agnès”

In a dream,
The moon tumbled from the sky
And awakened me from a sleep
In which I was dreaming of the moon
In the sky outside my bedroom window.

Upon awakening in my dream,
I awakened from my dream,

And, looking outside my bedroom window,
Saw the moon in the sky, not falling,

And I thought of Agnès.
