Oh my, I just saw this note from you, Noel. Incredible. Of course, I'm now living in Prague again (I'd rented the house in Austin, Texas).

As for "Robbers", a director in LA is currently optioning it for a movie. It was awfully kind of you to promote the novel to your friends.

Sorry for the long delay in replying, Noel. I moved my website to a new host/provider, things got confusing, it took a while to get up and running again.

Anyway, thanks for the note. Yes, real estate in the Austin area is pricey. I'm living in the hills west of Austin, a driveable distance, and it's still pricey. But I didn't buy a house. I don't own stuff, that's my philosophy. We're in this world for such a short time, basically we're all renting some time, so that's what I do about housing: rent. Fits my gypsy life best.

Thanks too, for the gracious comment on my novel ROBBERS. It's still in play re: TV/film. Hope to know something by summer.

How much did your house cost?

That might be thought by some or many a rude question but from someone still renting a small flat in the third most expensive city in the world it is better seen as envy of your domestic soace plus procimity to Threadgills, The Broken Spoke and so on!

Hope Robbers is finally audio-visualised. Years ago, on your book's first release I blurbed it to friends as a mix of All the King's Men and a backwoods Elmore Leonard crime novel.

Thanks, hermano. The shame of it is that corporate bullies are hurting their own employees, too. It's hard for an employee at Wal-mart or Best Buy to keep their morale up when they aren't trained, aren't supported, receive no benefits, get low pay, and then have take the brunt of disgruntled customers. I feel bad for them. No future for so many no matter how they try.

But as you say, I can take some solace in these Hill Country surroundings. And the "moisture" has been pouring in lately. Ready for some sunshine! :-)

Spot on, Christopher. I see it, too. The political polarization and divisiveness via wedge issues and such. The political consulting industry is on fire. That to me is driving these campaign costs to such astronomical levels. The consultants are loving it. I mean it must be a growth industry. And let's not forget the huge disappointment of our Supreme Court and the "Citizens United" decision. That one really makes my blood boil. Me and the postal worker from Florida who flew his gyrocopter into the Capital Lawn in protest of campaign financing.

And the corporate bullying you experienced with all these private companies upon returning home is over-the-top, for sure, and maddening. It reminds me of the 1970's when corporations got so big they didn't care about their customers. Customer service seemed to improve by way of competition for a while, but the outsourcing and such of the service sector has led to a decline again in customer service and customer respect. Got no tolerance for corporate bullying.

That said, your new home is so lovely. Glad you found such a place. Its important. Those Hill Country wildflowers are striking. And, y'all sure have tons of moisture for the bloom to continue for a good long while.

Me, I'm hoping we are all just broken angels in for repairs.
